Mouse Animal Production Service (MAPS)

The primary role of the Mouse Animal Production Service (MAPS), located at UBC satellite campus CMMT, is to support Canadian and international investigators in producing and using genetically modified mouse models. We will take you from start to finish in your transgenic project as well as support you in your ongoing mouse related studies.

MAPS main services include generating transgenic mice by DNA microinjection, ESC microinjection, and CRISPR/Cas9  mediated gene editing in both zygotes and in ESC. We also offer mouse sperm cryopreservation service to secure valuable strains which can be resurrected at a later date using in vitro fertilization. Additional services include chimera breeding, colony management, timed pregnancies, pseudopregnant females, mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs), ESC of various genetic background, and mice for backcrossing.
