Huntington Society Tour

Huntington Society Tour

CMMT holds an annual open house for Huntington's Disease patients and their families. This event is organized in collaboration with the BC chapter of the Huntington Society of Canada, and is intended to provide additional information and research updates to those interested in learning more about the research being conducted into Huntington's Disease.

We go beyond interacting with patients in the hospital setting by holding annual open houses for Huntington’s patients and their families. Patients and their families receive tours of the laboratory facilities and attend poster sessions and presentations by our investigators as a way to keep abreast of the latest developments in treatments.

While most attendees are from British Columbia we have also hosted visitors from Alberta, the Yukon, Ontario and the US Pacific Northwest.

By sharing their knowledge and detailing the progress of potential therapies CMMT scientists impart not only their knowledge of the disease but their enthusiasm for the research and their belief that a cure will be found. "I love coming to these things because I learn so much and these people are so young, they’re going to find the cure, they’re going to do it!" Exclaimed Norma Stevens, previous BC Chapter President for the Huntington Society of Canada.
