MAPS is always evolving because we adjust to the needs of our users, as well as to advances in mouse technologies. MAPS currently generates transgenic mice through the microinjection of genetically modified embryonic stem (ES) cell lines generated either by the service or provided by investigators at UBC, and other research groups from across Canada and around the world. The service has already successfully generated many unique strains of mice using this method. Additional services include: electroporation (DNA constructs, ZFNs, or TALENs), chimera breeding, sperm cryopreservation, in vitro fertilization, strain recovery, timed pregnancies, pseudopregnant females, vasectomized males, mouse embryonic fibroblasts, ES cells of various genetic backgrounds, and ICR, 129, and C57BL/6J mice.
We look forward to working with you to further your research.
